How To Post On This Blog

  1. You should have received an email from the blog administrator inviting you to be an author. If you have not, please contact the facilitator or email samantha@lsf-lst.ca.
  2. Follow the link from your invitation email, or go to blogger.com and sign in using your Google account. If you do not have a Google account, click here for instructions on how to get one.
  3. Once you are signed into Blogger, you should see the blog title at the top; click the title.  
  4. Use the orange "New post" button in the upper left to create a blank post. 
  5. Use the "Post title" box at the top to create a title for your post.
  6. Type the content of your post in the large white space. You have basic formatting options (bold/italic/underline, font colour, lists, etc.) as well as the option of adding links, images, and embedded videos.  
    • To create linked text, rather than simply copying and pasting a url (which is not visually appealing and makes for cluttered pages), highlight the text you would like linked, click the “Link” button, then copy and paste your url into the “Web address” box, and click “OK.” 
    • To insert an image, place your cursor where you’d like the image to appear, then click the small image icon (between “Link” and the video symbol). You will then have several options. The ones you will most likely use are “Upload,” to upload an image file from your computer, and “From a URL,” to copy and paste an image link from google images or another site. 
      • Once you have selected your image(s), click the blue “Add selected” button. You can then change the image’s size, position, and caption by clicking on it. 
    • To embed a video, place your cursor where you’d like the video to appear, then click the small video icon. You can then upload a video file from your computer, or choose a link from Youtube. Then use the blue “Select” button to embed it. 
  7. Lastly, you must label your post with your name. Click "Labels" on the right hand side. You should see a white box with a list of names underneath. Choose your name (and any other appropriate labels that may be there) from the list. If your name is not on the list, contact your facilitator. 
  8. Finally, use the orange "Publish" button in the upper right to publish your post. 
  9. Please note that your post will be live immediately. You have the power to edit and delete only your posts; the administrator has the power to edit and delete all posts.
